Every week brings a new study headline about protein timing, cardio and muscle, or the right number of sets. Most of it reaches trainers secondhand, through social posts that drop the sample size and the population.

This section exists to slow that down. We look at what a study actually tested, who was in it, and whether the finding changes anything for the clients in front of you. Sometimes the answer is yes. Often it's: interesting, keep doing what works. We also flag when a topic belongs to medicine or nutrition science rather than the training floor.

Our Evidence Update pieces are on the way. Until then, the feed below brings in exercise pieces from the NASM Blog. Look for upcoming guides on how to start reading research as a working trainer, and the beginner mistakes that make one study sound like settled science.
